The Balti Investeeringute Grupi Pank AS company has so far operated under the BIG trademark. On Thursday 20 November 2008 the company will adopt the BIGBANK trademark in Estonia to consolidate the company’s activities on all of its markets under one common trademark.
The transition to the new trademark will begin today, 20 November, when the old trademark is replaced with the new one at Tallinn and Tartu branches and in electronic channels. The BIGBANK trademark will also be used in Latvia as the company commences operations there by opening a subsidiary firm. In Lithuania BIG has been using the BIGBANK trademark since August last year.
The official business name of the company will remain Balti Investeeringute Grupi Pank AS for the time being but plans exist to correlate the business name and names of the subsidiaries with the new trademark.
According to Targo Raus, Chairman of the Board of BIG, the main goal of the trademark change is to unify the bank’s image on all of its markets and harness resulting marketing synergy. “The new trademark does not imply changes in the company’s spheres of activity or principles, as we intend to continue functioning as a bank specialising in consumer loans and fixed-term deposits,” said Raus.
Balti Investeeringute Grupi Pank AS is a specialised credit institution based on Estonian capital which has subsidiaries in Latvia and Lithuania and offers its range as cross-border services in Finland. BIGBANK has a total of approximately 500 employees and has 45 branches in the Baltic States. In Estonia and Latvia the bank’s services are available not only at branches, but also from post offices across the country.
BIGBANK’s bonds are listed on the Tallinn and Stockholm Stock Exchanges.
