On Saturday, 8 May, at the Super Family Day, which took place at the Tallinn Zoo, the honorary title Super Family of the Year was announced for the first time and awarded to the Pall family from Rapla County who are raising four children and offering a home to a foreign exchange student from Germany. BIGBANK gave 10,000 kroons to the winning family.
"The judges decided to award the Pall family because they stick together and are very active," said the President of the Union of Large Families of Estonia, Kalmer Hütt. The children of the family are hardworking and take part in different hobby groups. „The parents care about their children, discuss matters with them and direct them to different hobbies, " Hütt added.
According to the patron of the Super Family of the Year competition, Elle Kull, the activeness of the Pall family with regard to culture and their sense of unity should be an example to many others. „Certainly their readiness to take an exchange student to their family and teach him the best of our culture and values has to be acknowledged," Kull said.
The family of Aigi and Heino Pall is raising sons Andreas (11), Andro (4) and daughters Andeli (7) and Andleer (2). In addition the family has one other child - a foreign exchange student Henriette (17) from Germany, who came to Estonia to study the language and culture. The father Heino and mother Aigi are active together at a children's theatre and have performed in nearly all schools and kindergartens of Estonia. The family is living at a house in Rapla County which they built together as a family. „The friends of the children call our home the Moomin house, because it is light blue and has many windows," Aigi Pall explained.
According to the mother Aigi, the family is active, cheerful and never bored. „Usually our family does not complain. Maybe the only thing there could be more of is time, especially time for spending together with the whole family - there is never enough of that," Aigi Pall added.
A total of 26 candidates from all over Estonia were submitted for the Super Family of the Year competition, among whom the winner was chosen by the committee.
