BIGBANK changes its business name

BIGBANK officially brought its business name into line with its new international trademark on 23 January 2009: Balti Investeeringute Grupi Pank AS is now known as BIGBANK AS.

The bank lodged an application with the commercial register to this end on 7 January, after which its new business name was registered and entered forced from 23 January. Changes to the official business names of the bank's Latvian and Lithuanian subsidiaries will be introduced in the near future in accordance with local regulations.

According to Targo Raus, Chairman of the Board of BIGBANK, the change to the business name was the planned follow-up to the change to the bank's trademark last November, when the company - which had previously operated under the BIG trademark - adopted the common name BIGBANK on all of its international markets.

"The change in our business name won't affect our clients or partners - all of the contracts and obligations we've entered into will still be valid," he explained. "The only difference is that in performing settlements with the bank from now on people will have to use the new name."

BIGBANK AS is an Estonian-owned specialist credit institution with subsidiaries in Latvia and Lithuania. The bank also offers its range as cross-border services in Finland. Its bonds are listed on the Tallinn and Stockholm stock exchanges.
