BIG's nine month profit is EEK 6 million

During the first nine months of the year, AS Balti Investeeringute Grupp (BIG) earned a net profit of EEK 6 million, 31% more than in the same period a year earlier.

BIG's total volume of loans has increased by 29.7% in a year, totaling EEK 97.8 million. The annual growth of the loan portfolio is 36.1%, reaching EEK 58.4 million.

Without considering the subsidiaries, BIG granted loans in the amount of EEK 66.4 million in the first three quarters, which is 52.3% more than in the same period last year. The share of housing loans in the loan portfolio has increased considerably.

Compared to the end of last year, BIG's balance sheet total has gained close to EEK 21 million, amounting to EEK 123.1 million. As of 30.09.2002, the share of the loan portfolio in total assets was 79.4%.

AS Balti Investeeringute Grupp was founded in Tartu in 1992. With about 2900 clients, BIG is the greatest lender of money to private persons in the Baltic States after banks and leasing companies. In 1993, the company expanded to Tallinn and in 1994, to Pärnu. The first foreign branch was established in Riga in 1996. The name of the subsidiary is Baltijas Izaugsmes Grupa and its main areas of operation are similar to those of the parent company.
