Yesterday, AS Balti Investeeringute Grupp (BIG) reviewed the first month's results of its branch in Rakvere.
"We are pleased to admit that there has been greater interest in our Virumaa branch than we expected - during the first month of operation, nearly 300 people visited our office in Kroonikeskus, the midtown commercial centre of Rakvere," said Ingo Põder, chairman of the board, about the opening of BIG's fourth branch in Estonia.
The expected payoff period of the new branch is two years. Yet the total amount of loans granted and bonds sold in the first month was nearly 25% greater than planned.
According to Põder, the results of the Rakvere branch are impressive. "The product most often asked about is the loan against surety. It seems that namely this kind of consumer loan has been missing in Virumaa," said chairman of the board of BIG.
With about 2900 clients, AS Balti Investeeringute Grupp is the greatest lender of money to private persons in the Baltic States after banks and leasing companies. BIG was founded in Tartu in 1992. In 1993, the company expanded to Tallinn, in 1994 to Pärnu and in November 2002 to Rakvere. The first foreign branch was established in Riga in 1996. The name of the subsidiary is Baltijas Izaugsmes Grupa and its main areas of operation are similar to those of the parent company.
