Leadership change at Balti Investeeringute Grupp

Ingo Põder, Chairman of the Management Board of AS Balti Investeeringute Grupp, is leaving his post after having held it for six years.

"These six years have been a sufficient period for self-development, implementation of my skills and raising the company to a new level. Now this has been achieved and I would like to put myself to the test in the sphere of production," Ingo Põder said, commenting on his decision to step down.

Ingo Põder has been the head of AS Balti Investeeringute Grupp since February of 1997. During the six following years, the balance sheet total of the enterprise has grown from 41.7 million to 131.5 million kroons, the loan portfolio has increased from 27.5 million to 107.2 million kroons, and the annual profit - from 0.8 million to 8.0 million kroons.

The enterprise expects to fill the position of the chairperson of the board within the next few months by advertising the vacancy, and in the meanwhile the company will be run by Veiko Kandla, member of the board.

"Ingo Põder has done a good job of developing the enterprise and our shareholders are pleased with his work. At the same time, six years is quite a long period, and one would naturally develop a desire to do something new, it is human and perfectly understandable," member of the board Vahur Voll commented on the change of leadership.

After banks and leasing companies, Balti Investeeringute Grupp, founded in 1992, is the greatest lender of money to private persons in the Baltic States. The company has branch offices in Tallinn, Tartu, Pärnu and Rakvere, as well as a subsidiary company in Latvia. The enterprise has 3100 clients and its auditor is KPMG Estonia.
