BIG signs long term co-operation agreement with Estonian Folk Music Centre

Monday 23 May saw the signing of a long term co-operation agreement between the Estonian Folk Music Centre and Balti Investeeringute Grupp (BIG). The conclusion of the agreement takes place within the framework of the Press Concert of the Viljandi Folk Music Festival.

"We decided to sign a three-year co-operation agreement with the Estonian Folk Music Centre because we believe that folk music plays an important role in our cultural outlook," Chairman of the Board Targo Raus remarked about the partnership, adding: "Who else should support our distinguished culture if not our own business?"

The most widely known undertaking of the Estonian Folk Music Centre is undoubtedly the Viljandi Folk Music Festival, which takes place this year from 28-31 July.

There are also events such as the Harvest Fest of Folk Music, Festival of World Music MAAjaILM and a fund-raising Spring Concert. In addition, the Estonian Folk Music Centre organizes introductory concert series about folk music in schools.

"It is a pleasure to see that folk music is gaining more and more attention and that the number of supporters is growing," said the Director of the Estonian Folk Music Centre, Ando Kiviberg. "Without meaningful supporters, it would be impossible to propagate folk music in this capacity and concerts would inevitably be more expensive for visitors."

AS Balti Investeeringute Grupp is the biggest loan provider to private clients after banks and leasing firms. The growth and progress of the enterprise have been assured by its flexible loan products and conditions for private as well as business clients.
