BIG enters the retail sector

The leading Estonian financial corporation, AS Balti Investeeringute Grupp (BIG), specialising in lending money to private clients, has entered the retail sector and is offering the possibility to conclude a contract with BIG to pay for goods or services directly at the merchant\'s outlet.

The first location where this BIG financing option can be formalised is the Enter IT-Market retail chain of stores selling digital goods. There are plans to expand the circle of BIG\'s partners and stores in a cooperation agreement to 50 by the end of the year.

According to Targo Raus, Chairman of the Board of BIG, the new service is primarily directed at those who for some reason have remained outside the focus scope of large universal banks. "The strength of BIG is our greater degree of flexibility; we have stressed the easier availability of our services and a more personal approach to satisfying the needs of every client," said Raus.

Veiko Piirsalu, Executive Director of Enter IT-Market, commented that cooperation with BIG will expand the circle of potential clients of the enterprise. "The majority of home users buy laptop and desktop computers with various instalment options. BIG\'s entry into this sphere provides the client with another flexible option for purchase in instalments," stated Piirsalu.

To conclude a contract with BIG at the store, the customer must choose a suitable item of goods or a service at that store and fill out the BIG financing application with the assistance of a salesperson - and a response will arrive in just 15 minutes. There is no need to actually visit a BIG branch.

AS Balti Investeeringute Grupp is the largest specialised lender of money to private clients in the Baltic States after banks and leasing companies. The goal of the enterprise is to provide both private and business clients with fast, attentive and flexible financial services.

Currently BIG has 10 branches all over Estonia. In June BIG opened new branches in Jõhvi and Viljandi, and in July in Sillamäe. A branch in Valga is set to open in September.
