BIG gains two new board members

An extraordinary meeting of shareholders of AS Balti Investeeringute Grupp (BIG) decided on Wednesday (05.10.05) to increase its board to five and chose two new members.

BIG shareholders chose as new board members Eesti Meedia Finance Director Meelis Luht and former Flora Kommerts chief accountant Linda Terras. Neither of the new board members owns shares in the company. The other members of the BIG board are Parvel Pruunsild, Vahur Voll and Juhani Jaeger.

The new wording of the public limited company's articles of association was also confirmed at the meeting. The amended articles of association were brought into compliance with the provisions of the laws governing credit institutions. The Financial Supervision Authority last week granted BIG a credit institution activity licence.

AS Balti Investeeringute Grupp is the largest specialised lender of money to private clients in the Baltic States after banks and leasing companies. Its loan portfolio exceeds 300 million EEK and it has more than 8000 clients in Estonia. At the end of August the company's assets totalled 354 million EEK. Its goal is to provide both private and business clients with fast, attentive and flexible financial services.

The company currently has 11 branches throughout Estonia and more than 70 employees. It was founded in Tartu in 1992 and its owners are in equal part Parvel Pruunsild and Vahur Voll.
