Balti Investeeringute Grupi Pank (BIG), the leading consumer loan-specialising financial institution in Estonia, now offers a new service titled "SMS loan" - the fastest option for getting a smaller loan without collateral.
According to Targo Raus, Chairman of the Board of BIG, the enterprise intends to capture 60% of the SMS loans market in the next six months. It is estimated that SMS loans totalling about 5 million kroons are now issued in Estonia every month.
Raus stated that the target group of the SMS loan service comprises those who need additional finances at such a moment when there are no other options for getting a quick loan, for instance during weekends or outside working hours.
"In this case BIG will give you the necessary sum of money in just a few minutes. If the client should then choose to extend the loan sum repayment period, (s)he can do so by reregistering the SMS loan as a conventional consumer loan with longer and more flexible repayment conditions. An SMS loan is in many ways like a credit card," said Raus.
He believes that BIG benefited from its 14-year experience in smaller loans when developing the new service. "We did not want to rush the SMS loan service launch because we pay great attention to market studies, service research and development and ensuring adequate security coverage for it. Being a licensed financial institution, BIG is a reliable and flexible partner for its clients," explained Raus.
To apply for the BIG SMS loan, send a text message from a mobile phone with the word "laen" to BIG's short number - 1333. You can apply for the SMS loan round the clock and on any day of the week. The sums issued are 1000, 2000 and 3000 kroons while the repayment deadline depends in the client's preferences - 15, 30 or 60 days. No interest is calculated on the loan amount but a contract conclusion fee is charged - it is deducted from the loan sum. The SMS loan applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
