BIGBANK's safety loan is a reasonable and secure solution when you have a need for additional finances. In case of a safety loan, the insurance covers your loan payments in case of undesired unemployment, temporary incapacity for work and death.

* Examples about the consumer credit cost rate: in case of a loan of 30,000 kroons for 60 months, the interests constitute 28% in a year and the consumer credit cost rate 51.9%; in case of a loan of 50,000 kroons for 120 months, the interests constitute 25% in a year and the consumer credit cost rate 39.9%.

Conditions of the loan

  • Loan amounts starting from 5000 kroons (319,55 €)
  • Interests constitute starting from 25% of the loan amount per year
    • The interest of a safety loan does not differ from the interest of a loan without insurance
  • Maturity 12 - 60 months
    • Up to 120 months for existing clients
  • Includes insurance in case becoming unemployed without an additional fee
    • Both the loan principal and interest are compensated, therefore the remaining loan amount decreases also during the insured event
  • Clients of all banks can apply for the loan, your salary does not have to be received and you do not need to have an account at BIGBANK

  • For applying, fill in the loan application, submit a copy of an identity document and your bank account statement, and our loan specialist will soon contact you for specifying the conclusion of the contract and necessary documents


Insurance

  • In case of undesired unemployment or temporary incapacity for work, ERGO Kindlustuse AS shall compensate your loan payments in the extent of 12 months per one insured event
  • In case of several insured events, the maximum period of compensating loan payments is 24 months in total
  • In case of death, the insurance shall fully cover the outstanding loan balance unpaid by the moment of death
  • The insurance period depends on the maturity of the credit receiver's loan contract, but the insurance shall not cover a longer period than 60 months. The insurance does not cover the first 60 days of unemployment or incapacity for work
  • Loan amounts of up to EUR 6000 are covered with insurance

Documents necessary for applying for a loan:

  • Loan application.
  • An identity document of the loan applicant (and surety provider):Estonian citizen's, alien's or foreign citizen's passport, ID Card, Estonian driving license, a seaman's discharge book or a certificate of record of service on Estonian ships.
  • Applicant's bank account statement, which shows their income and outgoings of the last six months (a statement taken from a branch office of the bank must be confirmed with the bank's seal on every page, the clients of Internet banks also have the possibility of preparing a statement at a BIGBANK branch office).
  • In case of surety, also the bank account statement of the surety provider.


Requirements to the applicant

  • The loan applicant has to be at least 18 years old, a citizen of the Republic of Estonia, or a foreign citizen or stateless person who lives in Estonia and has a valid residence permit.
  • The offered loan amount depends on the applicant's income.
  • If surety is used as additional collateral, then
    • the surety provider has to be at least 18 years old, a citizen of the Republic of Estonia, or a foreign citizen or stateless person who lives in Estonia and has a valid residence permit.
    • the surety provider's monthly income has to have been received on their bank account at least for the last 6 months.
  • In case of lack of surety or sufficient income, it is possible to apply for a loan of more than 20,000 kroons (1 278,23 €) against real estate collateral.


Repaying the loan

  • It is possible to repay the loan on the principle of an annuity schedule, where both interest and the loan amount are paid monthly, whereas all monthly payments are of the same size.
  • It is also possible to repay the loan by the maturity date so, that only interest payments are made monthly, returning the principal loan amount takes place fully during the last month.

When repaying the loan amount at the end of the loan period, the interest shall be paid monthly. You can view a sample schedule here.
