All money deposited by our clients is protected by a guarantee fund and BIGBANK’s deposits are guaranteed and compensated in accordance with the Guarantee Fund Act.
The Parliament of Estonia passed an act on 23 October 2008 by which the Guarantee Fund Act is changed so that starting from 9 October 2008 the deposits up to 50,000 Euros (782,330 Kroons) of every depositor have been guaranteed 100% in one credit establishment. That is valid to all depositors of BIGBANK. The new Guarantee Fund Act entered force on 14 November 2008.
The deposits of legal persons are also guaranteed. The deposits of a legal person are not subject to compensation if, according to the confirmed annual report of the legal person, at least two out of three economic indicators are the following:
- the balance sheet total is more than EUR 3,650,000,
- the annual net turnover is more than EUR 7,300,000,
- the average number of employees of the year is more than 50 people.
