Today's BIGBANK commenced business and opened its first office in Tartu.
1993
The first branch was opened in Tallinn and in the next year also in Pärnu.

The company founded an subsidiary in Latvia, which later, similarly to Estonia, began to operate under the trademark BIG.
1997
The enterprise adopted the trademark BIG (An acronym from the business name AS Balti Investeeringute Grupp).
2004
BIG submitted an application for an activity license as a credit institution. BIG listed its bonds on the Tallinn Stock Exchange for the first time.
2005
BIG received the activity license of a credit institution and operates since September 28 in Estonia as a credit institution or a bank. The new business name of the enterprise is Balti Investeeringute Grupi Pank AS.
2006
BIG began to offer term deposits on the Estonian market for the first time. The balance sheet total of BIG exceeded the 1 billion kroons limit, by the end of the year also the loan portfolio reached this mark.
2007
BIG opened the Lithuanian branch, which was the first to operate under the "BIGBANK" trademark.
The international rating agency Moody's Investor Service gave BIG a credit rating for the first time.
BIG conducted the first international issue of debt instrument and listed the bonds on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
The subsidiary in Latvia initiated cooperation with Latvias Pasts, making the services of BIG available in post offices all over the country.
The balance sheet total of the bank reached 2.5 billion and the loan portfolio 2 billion kroons by the end of the year. The number of active credit contracts reached 100,000.
2008
The bank, which had operated under the name BIG, began to use the unified international trademark BIGBANK also in Estonia and Latvia. The business name was changed accordingly (BIGBANK AS).
In addition to the subsidiary BIGBANK opened a branch in Latvia.
BIGBANK began to offer term deposits as a cross-border service in Finland.
The bank initiated cooperation with Eesti Post through which all services of BIGBANK were made available in all bigger post offices.
2009
BIGBANK began to offer term deposits as a cross-border service in Germany.
BIGBANK opened the Finnish branch.
2010
BIGBANK began to offer deposits as a cross-border service in Austria.
BIGBANK began issuing loans in Finland.
